Emma Hayes’ preliminary U.S. Women’s National Team roster for the 2026 CONCACAF W Championship has been revealed. Lily Yohannes, Naomi Girma, and Alyssa Thompson headlined Hayes’ 50-player roster, CONCACAF announced Monday. Hayes will trim her roster down to 23 players by the start of the World Cup Qualifying competition, which will run November 27-December 5 in Mansfield and Houston, Texas. Key veterans Lindsey Heaps, Tierna Davidson, Sam Coffey, and Mallory Swanson were also named to the roster, as well as recent debutants Pietra Tordin and Kate Del Fava. Following the final roster submission deadline, outfield players may only be replaced in the event of a serious injury or medical matter up to 24 hours before their team’s first match, subject to Concacaf approval. Goalkeepers may be replaced in the event of a serious injury or medical matter at any time during the competition. All replacements must come from the respective team’s preliminary roster.The USWNT will face off with El Salvador in the previously determined quarterfinal round, with the winner sealing a berth into the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup.Three Olympics spots will go to the CONCACAF W Championship’s two finalists and third-place finisher. Due to the United States serving as host nation of the Olympics, the fourth-place finisher will also clinch a berth if the USWNT finishes in the final three places.In the other quarterfinal matches, Jamaica will take on Costa Rica, Canada faces off with Panama and Mexico squares off with Haiti.The USWNT most recently faced off with No. 1-ranked Spain during the October window, losing 2-0 in Washington, D.C. and rallying for a 2-2 draw in Chester, Pennsylvania.
