The exhibit Majesty–The Queen's Horses, celebrating the late Queen Elizabeth II's lifelong love of horses, will be on display at the National Horseracing Museum in Newmarket next year from June through September. It highlights the Queen's extraordinary relationship with horses, exploring the role they played in her life, from royal duty and ceremonial occasions to the freedom she enjoyed riding and her lifelong passion for horseracing.Bringing together personal objects, historic royal dress and rarely displayed works, alongside loans from major museums and private collections, the exhibition will offer a fascinating glimpse into the Queen's private passion for horses. A programme of talks, masterclasses and special events will accompany the exhibition. The anniversary also marks a remarkable royal connection. Queen Elizabeth II officially opened the Museum's current five-acre site on November 3, 2016, having previously opened the original National Horseracing Museum in 1983, 33 years earlier. The royal association continues today, with Queen Camilla serving as the Museum's Patron. The Hon Frances Stanley, chair of trustees at the National Horseracing Museum, said, “We are immensely proud of the Museum and the important role it plays in telling the story of British horseracing. Reaching 10 years is a significant milestone, made possible by the tremendous support of the racing industry, our partners, staff and volunteers.“As we celebrate the past decade, we are also looking firmly to the future. We are particularly looking forward to Majesty – The Queen's Horses, which will celebrate the late Queen's lifelong love of horses and our sport's extraordinary royal connections.“Alongside our plans for new digital experiences and bringing the story of Palace House to life, we want to welcome new audiences and give visitors even more reasons to return. With general admission costing just £15 and including unlimited return visits for a year, we hope more people will come and discover everything the Museum has to offer.”The post Major Queen Elizabeth II Exhibit To Run At National Horseracing Museum In 2027 appeared first on TDN | Thoroughbred Daily News | Horse Racing News, Results and Video | Thoroughbred Breeding and Auctions.
