Hi r/SideProject 👋 A friend and I have been building Juegos de SalĂłn (“parlour games”) as a side project: https://juegosdesalon.cl , available in English, Spanish and Portuguese. What it is: 17 short minigames you play in the browser, with no install and no account: Classics: Hangman, Generala (a Yahtzee-like dice game), Battleship, Liar’s Dice, dominoes
Logic: Bulls & Cows, bridge puzzles and other deduction minigames Knowledge: put events in order on a timeline, find the impostor, and more Skill (just added): đŸ„· Shinobi and đŸ—Œ Babel All game clones get their due attribution on their cover pages Ways to play: Solo, whenever you have 2-5 spare minutes 📅 Daily minigame: the same challenge for everyone, with a leaderboard that resets monthly 🏆 Cups: set up a minigame tournament with friends, and everyone plays from their own phone What it doesn’t have: ads, payments or data selling. It’s non-profit and open source. How it’s built: Plain HTML, CSS and JavaScript with ES modules. No framework, no build step, no npm. Hosted on GitHub Pages, with Firebase for leaderboards and tournaments. Very cheap set-up! End-to-end tests with Playwright, and a preview of every pull request. Where it stands: around 35–50 daily active players, almost all through word of mouth among friends and family in Latin America. This is our first time sharing it outside that circle. What we’d love feedback on: Is it clear what to do when you land on the home page? Which minigame did you play first, and did you come back for another? What’s missing or confusing? You can reply here or use the 🐞 button in the app. We’re also exploring how to adapt the minigames to support cognitive development in kids and older adults. If you work in that space, we’d love to chat. Thanks for taking a look! 🙌 submitted by /u/DeliciousNutcracker [link] [comments]
