I know underrated talents working in BPOs and as delivery partners. What if there was a platform to help them get noticed by companies? share your ideas

Many BTech, MTech in Mechanical or IT or graduates from other fields are underemployed. I personally know many people who know web development but are working in BPOs. Some of them have good enough skills, but they are working as Zomato delivery partners or doing other jobs just to make a living. I see them as underrated talent. They may have passed out from Tier 2 or Tier 3 colleges, but are either unemployed or working for very low salaries. Even I have experienced this. I graduated from a Tier 3 college, but I started learning coding from a young age. After graduation, I applied for jobs on LinkedIn but got no response. On Naukri, I mostly got calls for BPO jobs or internships. I got my opportunity through my hackathon network, where I won $1,000. When I look back, I had the skills, but I couldn't make myself visible to the right people. When I discussed this with my friends & circle, they suggested posting regularly on LinkedIn and sharing my work. But why do I need to keep posting regularly just to get noticed by companies? Later, I started thinking that LinkedIn is not really the best place for job searching, and Naukri also has its limitations. People with more experience and premium profiles get visibility, while underrated candidates, career-gap people and people from non-traditional backgrounds get overlooked and missed in the crowd So I started thinking about building a platform specifically for underrateds. A place where underemployed graduates, unemployed people, gig workers who have professional skills, career-gap candidates, and other underrated talent can join and make themselves visible to companies. No training, no coaching. Helping them gain visibility and connecting them to employers Companies can come to the platform, search for candidates based on their skills, education, and interests, and directly request an introduction. I'm thinking of something like a reverse talent marketplace, inspired by Hired (which was absorbed by LHH Recruitment Solutions) and Talent Pluto, but focused on these kinds of candidates. These people already exist. They have skills, but finding them is difficult because they are not visible on traditional hiring platforms. This is just a basic overview of the problem I'm trying to solve. We have Internshala for interns, AngelList for startups, but no platform for underatteds I would really like to hear your feedback and your own experiences. Do you think this is worth building? Have you faced something similar? I'm open to listening. u can share ur ideas too. submitted by /u/abdulhaq_real [link] [comments]
