My cousin is a nurse and kept missing her own schedule, so I built her an app

Wait 5 sec.

My cousin is a nurse on a rotating schedule, and I watched them fight their phone for years. Night shifts that cross midnight showed up on the wrong day. An alarm rang on a day off, or didn't ring when it mattered. They kept a screenshot of the printed schedule in their camera roll and counted their hours by hand at the end of the pay period. I'm a developer, not a nurse, so I did the one thing I could do: I built them an app. A few of their coworkers asked for it too, which is why it's now in the App Store and Google Play, and why I'm here. It's called ShiftDeck: Any rotation, entered once. It fills the whole year (2-2-3, 4 on 4 off, 7 on 7 off, or any cycle you build day by day) Night shifts show across both days they cover, with their times Alarms ring before shifts only, never on days off. The app tells you if something on your phone could block an alarm Swap a shift in two taps. It shows what changes first, and you can undo it Paid hours with breaks taken off, plus nights and overtime Import your hours by pasting them from Notes or any text Works offline, so a hospital basement is fine No account needed. A partner can get a read-only link with shift times only, no pay and no notes What it costs: the core is free forever with no ads. A one-time unlock adds extras like more schedules and reading a printed schedule from a photo. No subscription, ever. I'd rather hear it from the people who actually work these shifts. What does your schedule look like (12s, 8s, nights only, mandatory OT), and what does your current app get wrong? If your pattern doesn't work in ShiftDeck, tell me and I'll fix it. submitted by /u/shiro90 [link] [comments]
