A Disney hotel is preparing for a major transformation in early 2027.Disney has spent recent years updating its resort hotels, with several properties receiving extensive changes to their original designs. Paradise Pier Hotel officially reopened as Pixar Place Hotel in 2024, while Disneyland Paris transformed its Hotel New York into Disney Hotel New York – The Art of Marvel in 2021.Concept art for Disney World’s upcoming Disney’s Lakeshore Lodge – inspired by the likes of Brother Bear (2003), Bambi (1942), Pocahontas (1995), Encanto (2021), and Fantasia (1940) – has also failed to inspire much interest. These makeovers haven’t pleased everyone. Some Disney fans have criticized the increasing use of recognizable franchises, arguing that the changes come at the expense of the hotels’ individual identities. Others have compared the more minimalist rooms to a Marriott or even, in the case of a refreshed room at Disney’s Pop Century Resort several years ago, a “hospital room.”Now, another Disney hotel is preparing to introduce a character-focused design, although this particular makeover will be noticeably different from those seen in the United States.Disney Confirms New Minnie Mouse Hotel Room DesignsTokyo Disneyland Hotel will transform select guest rooms into Minnie Mouse-themed accommodations beginning January 12, 2027.Credit: Tokyo Disney ResortThe hotel, located directly opposite Tokyo Disneyland, is known for its Victorian-inspired interiors and Disney details. Its standard rooms feature traditional furnishings, patterned carpets, and subtle references to Mickey Mouse and other Disney characters. The property also offers dedicated character rooms inspired by Cinderella (1950), Beauty and the Beast (1991), Alice in Wonderland (1951), and Tinker Bell from Peter Pan (1953).For 2027, selected Superior Alcove Rooms will receive an extensive Minnie Mouse makeover, with pink decorations, hearts, and bows featured throughout the space.A large illustration of Minnie surrounded by hearts will appear above the headboard. The room’s alcove bed will feature a heart-patterned bedspread and cushions depicting Figaro and Fifi.Disney is also adding several decorative elements for 2027, including Minnie’s signature bow on the vanity mirror and additional ribbon and heart designs on nearby lamps and tables.Credit: Tokyo Disney ResortThe rooms are actually returning from a previous seasonal offering, with Disney confirming that the 2027 version will feature new decorations.Unlike the permanent changes introduced at several other Disney hotels, however, this transformation will be temporary. The special rooms will be available from January 12 through March 31, 2027, coinciding with Tokyo Disneyland’s Minnie’s Funderland celebration. The event marks the seventh and final installment of Disney’s Pal-Palooza series, which will conclude on March 31 after its latest seasonal run.Disney Reveals Prices, Reservations, and Exclusive Guest PerksAccording to Tokyo Disney Resort’s official announcement, the Minnie Mouse rooms will accommodate up to four adults, with two children ages 11 or younger also permitted to share existing beds. The 40-square-meter rooms will start at 84,500 yen per night, although prices will vary depending on the dates selected and availability.Reservations for stays between January 12 and March 20 will open on November 20, 2026, at 1 p.m. Japan Standard Time.Credit: Tokyo Disney ResortGuests planning to visit between March 21 and March 31 can book their rooms four months before their arrival date, with reservations opening at 11 a.m. local time.A deposit of 30,000 yen is required when booking, with the remaining balance payable upon arrival. Reservations must be made online rather than by telephone.Disney has also confirmed several exclusive souvenirs for guests staying in the rooms. Each room will receive two Minnie Mouse-themed pouches and two sets of heart-shaped postcards per night. The pouches feature transparent backs, while the postcards depict Minnie in different poses. Both souvenirs are exclusive to the special rooms.Beyond the accommodations, Tokyo Disneyland Hotel and Disney Ambassador Hotel will introduce limited-time dining experiences celebrating Minnie’s Funderland. At Tokyo Disneyland Hotel, Sherwood Garden Restaurant will serve a themed buffet, while Canna will offer special courses.
