Hi everyone! 👋🏾🩷I’ve already posted to this community before, and I think some of you might be familiar with my situation. I’m a new grad RN working three 12-hour night shifts on a Neuro PCU. I’m four months into my residency and just started working independently on October 30. One of my biggest struggles has been my fragmented schedule. I’ve already spoken with management about clustering my shifts and having a more consistent weekend rotation, but staffing shortages and schedule balancing have made that difficult. I’ve also tried requesting swaps, but haven’t had much luck. I genuinely love my job and would prefer to stay, but the inconsistent recovery time has been affecting me quite a bit. Here are my schedules from September through December (blue dots are my workdays): https://imgur.com/a/54XrHcf I’d really appreciate some honest feedback. Does this seem like a reasonable night-shift schedule? And how would you advocate for a more sustainable arrangement when you’ve already tried discussing it with management? I’m NOT expecting special treatment, just hoping to hear some perspectives and advice from other nurses. Thank you! ❤️ submitted by /u/Clever_Lexi [link] [comments]
