Mikel Arteta is delighted to welcome William Saliba back to full training, with the defender now available for selection for the first time this season.Saliba has struggled with a persistent back problem over the years, which also prevented him from continuing to play for France during the latter stages of the World Cup. The defender missed Arsenal’s pre-season preparations as he focused on recovering naturally after medical assessments determined that surgery was unnecessary. His return is a significant boost for the Gunners, with supporters expecting him to reclaim his place in the starting XI. Although Ezri Konsa has been superb so far, Saliba’s availability gives Arteta another quality defensive option.Arsenal welcome an important defensive returnSaliba remains a key player at the club and has established himself as one of the best defenders in the world over the last few seasons. Having him available again should strengthen Arsenal’s defensive options and make the team even more difficult for opponents to break down. With the Gunners preparing for their upcoming Champions League fixture, his return comes at an important time. However, Arteta will have to decide when the defender should return to competitive action.William Saliba (Photo by Stu Forster/Getty Images)Arteta provides positive update on SalibaSpeaking ahead of their Champions League game, Arteta offered an encouraging update on the defender’s recovery and confirmed that he was ready to play, via Arsenal Media:“He’s in a really good place. I think the process and the timings and in the manner that the injury has been dealt with, and especially the feelings that Willy has been having along the way, they’ve been very, very positive.“So, his evolution has been as expected, which is not always the case. He feels very comfortable. He played 45 minutes [behind] closed doors last week, and he feels ready to go. So whether we use him or not now is a matter of what the team needs.”Arteta’s comments indicate that Saliba has recovered well and is ready to contribute. His return provides Arsenal with greater defensive depth as they prepare for the challenges ahead._____________________________________________________________________________________________ADMIN COMMENTSo here are some simple rules which I must insist commenters follow….You agree not to give any personal abuse to other Arsenal fans.
