SOL grid bot: 89 "profit" messages, and the account is down 5%SOL / TetherUSBINANCE:SOLUSDTilonavoitencoA simple SOL grid bot, replayed on real 1-hour candles: 1,000 USDT, 20 grids between 93 and 99, started on Nov 1 at 95.75, 0.1% fee per trade. By the afternoon of Nov 5 it had sent 89 "profit" messages, adding up to +5.17. Up to then the account really was slightly up: +2.46 in total, counting the coins it held. Then SOL dropped from about 95 to under 90 in a few hours. The grid bought on every level on the way down and now holds coins on all 20 grids. The price is below the range, so there's nothing left to sell. With SOL at 89.70: What the dashboard still says: +5.17 profit. The real result, counting the coins it holds: about −52 (−5.2%). Just buying SOL on Nov 1 and holding: about −64 (−6.4%). So the bot did better than holding, but the account is down while the profit number only went up. Every one of the 89 messages was true. The loss isn't a message. It's in the coins the bot is holding. Fees were 9.91 over the same period, about twice the reported profit. HOW TO CHECK YOUR OWN GRID Add the free Grid Check script to the chart of your coin. Click the start candle, then the upper and lower price of your range. Set the number of grids, the investment and the fee in the settings. The table puts "what the bot reports" next to the real result and next to just holding the coin. The chart above shows this exact bot with Grid Check on it. This is an educational example on past prices. It is not a trade idea or financial advice, and it doesn't recommend any bot.
