I’m an RN working hospital shifts, and apparently I have my priorities completely backwards.

Wait 5 sec.

I somehow manage to get to the gym 4 times a week, but ask me to meal prep, eat 3 proper meals a day, or maintain a consistent diet? Impossible. Between 12-hour shifts, flipping between days and nights, getting home exhausted, and trying to have an actual life outside the hospital, eating properly feels like another full-time job. It’s funny because I can spend 1.5 hours lifting weights, but somehow can’t find 15 minutes to prepare something decent to eat. I know people will say meal prep on my days off, but those days off are also for recovering from the previous shifts. So apparently I’m disciplined enough to train consistently but not disciplined enough to put food in my mouth. Am I just making excuses, or does anyone else in healthcare struggle with this? submitted by /u/Bulky_Thought_7402 [link] [comments]
