Dost Launches AskDost to Give Finance Teams Their Own AI Agents

Dost, the native-AI finance automation platform, has launched AskDost, an AI business intelligence assistant built for finance and operations teams. AskDost connects to a company’s ERP and other financial data sources, answers questions in natural language, executes finance workflows once a human approves them, and lets each team run AI agents on its own data. It is available both as a standalone product, with no Dost account required, or inside the Dost platform.AskDost also acts on what it finds, in the same conversation where the question was asked. Teams can execute workflows across invoices, approvals, payments and reconciliation, and update GL coding rules in plain language, with every action prepared by AskDost and executed only once a person has approved it. This comes with a full audit trail of what changed and who approved it. It gives one view across finance leadership, procurement, accounts payable and accounts receivable, with planning and forecasting running through all of them - a finance leader can start from a single line in the P&L and drill to the invoice lines that explain it, in one conversation, without a call to the controller or a pivot table in Excel.AskDost was designed to adapt to finance teams through hyper-personalisation, rather than act as another piece of software for teams to learn how to use. Through Dost Studio, each finance team then builds and deploys its own apps and agents inside the portal, shaping the assistant around how that team actually works. A query built once is saved and shared with the team, and refreshes on a schedule, so everyone works from one current view rather than duplicated exports. The assistant launches as Deloitte’s latest UK CFO survey found that 67% of CFOs judge their organisations to be only around a quarter of the way towards the transformation they expect AI to deliver. CFO Connect’s Europe-wide 2026 survey found that two-thirds of finance teams use at least one AI tool, yet no specialist finance AI tool named in the survey reached more than 1% usage. In practice, this means finance teams are typing company data into general-purpose assistants every day, with no audit trail and no sense of what is being exposed. General-purpose assistants carry no audit trail and cannot see the data inside a company’s ERP, whereas AskDost works directly on live company data and understands invoices, purchase orders, VAT codes and GL coding out of the box.Adam Barbera, CEO and co-founder, Dost said: “I’ve sat across from hundreds of finance leaders. Every one of them has the data they need somewhere but reaching the explanation takes days and three different people. Ask something simple, like whether we’re paying above contract or where cash will be in eight weeks, and the answer will be spread across three systems and someone’s spreadsheet. We built AskDost to overcome this. We know every team runs finance differently, so we wanted teams to be able to shape it themselves, with their own agents and apps on their own data. Nobody should have to rebuild their finance function around a piece of software.”The Dost platform automates accounts payable and receivable as one process - from invoice capture and data extraction through matching, approvals, payments and bank reconciliation - connected natively to ERPs including SAP, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, Sage and Oracle. It has processed more than 5 million accounting transactions with 95% data extraction accuracy, for customers including HomeServe, Honest Greens, Housfy and Primaprix. AskDost adds the layer that lets finance teams question and act on that data, and is the company’s first product that can be adopted without the platform, connecting directly to a company’s ERP.NoYesArtificial Intelligence04 Nov, 2026
