Havana Grey, sire of this season's G1 Middle Park and G2 Norfolk Stakes winner Orthodox, will continue to have his fee listed as private for the 2027 covering season, with a height restriction on visiting mares. In announcing the fees for the four Whitsbury Manor Stud stallions, Joe Callan, head of bloodstock sales, said of Havana Grey, “This reflects the success we've had in managing his book to mares of 16.0hh or under, resulting in his best ever breeding season for mare numbers in foal. “He has enjoyed another outstanding season on the track, siring 16 individual stakes winners, five of these being two-year-olds, which include Group 1 winner Orthodox. A truly remarkable achievement, especially considering his three-year-old crop and older were conceived from £6,000 fees.”Orthodox, who was bred by Whitsbury Manor Stud, is out of Heartwarming, a mare by another of the stud's stallions in Showcasing, who will stand for a reduced fee of £20,000 as he approaches his 20th birthday. The sire of 155 stakes performers, Showcasing was at £30,000 in 2026.Havana Grey's dual Group 3-winning son Elite Status, who covered a first book of 150 mares in 2026, remains at his fee of £8,000.Dragon Symbol, like Elite Status, was bred at Whitsbury Manor, and he will also remain at £8,000 after covering books of more than 130 mares in each of his first three seasons.
