Watch Caddy Case Display: Printable watch case without screws or hinges seeks backers on MakerWorld

Wait 5 sec.

Designer Smackmax is crowdfunding the "Watch Caddy Case Display" (CWS01) on MakerWorld. The display box holds three watches and uses no screws, hinges or springs. Tension comes from seven ordinary hair ties. When the lid closes, internal levers lock each watch in place. The holders can be repositioned to suit different straps and wrist sizes. Backers receive print files (STL, 3MF, instructions), not a finished product. The print needs at least 250 x 200 x 130 mm of build space, about 1.1 kg of PLA, a 0.4 mm nozzle and 0.2 mm layer height. Some parts need tree-style supports; no multi-material system is required. The entry package costs the equivalent of 31 euros. A carry-handle module is 35 euros for the first 50 backers and 43 euros afterwards. A package with a commercial sales license costs 115 euros and is limited to 100 backers. At the time of reporting there were 24 backers and 1,154 euros of a 2,685 euro goal. The campaign runs until November 11 on an all-or-nothing basis and may miss its target. The function has not been independently tested, and the original currency of the prices is not stated.
