i work on orderain, an online store builder, and the thing we just shipped is letting your own AI agent run the store over MCP. backstory: a lot of small sellers i talk to don't want another dashboard to learn. they want to say "add these 12 products, make a winter sale coupon, fix the SEO on my category pages" and have it done. so we put an MCP server into orderain. in settings you create a connection, pick permissions (read, write, delete, page editing) and get a URL and a token. paste those into Claude, Grok Bot, Dots, ChatGPT, Cursor or anything that speaks MCP. takes about a minute. what the agent can handle: design, pages, SEO, products, categories, coupons, managing orders, inventory and more. the video is a raw, unedited 9 min screen recording. i add orderain to the Claude desktop app as a custom connector and ask it to study next.us and turn my store into that style. it copies the layout and feel (not their name, logo, copy or photos) on a separate branch: nav, footer, homepage, category pages, then returns, delivery, contact and about pages. then i publish the branch, test cart and checkout on the live store, and go through version history where every edit the agent made is logged. biggest lesson so far: the branch is what makes it feel safe. nobody wants an agent poking at their live store, but if it works on a copy and you look it over before publishing, it stops being scary. pricing is boring on purpose: starter is $5/mo and there's no platform fee on sales (card processing still applies). genuine question: what would you actually let an agent run in your store, and what would you never hand over? if you want to try it, search orderain.   submitted by   /u/Slight_Guest3459 [link]   [comments]
