The poles are shifting. Where will the bears lose their Magnets?MP Materials Corp Class ABATS:MPTotoshkaTradesMP Catching falling knives is a job for amateurs. I prefer to wait until the big fish walks into the trap on its own. MP Materials is showing a textbook picture right now: instead of jumping in at current levels, we calmly wait for price to finish its gradual slide and drop to the bottom of a deep institutional discount. Local pessimism is essentially a smokescreen, needed to shake the excess passengers out of the stock before a new wave higher begins. The entire geometry of the macro chart points to a true reversal inside the confluence zone between $31.31 and $33.69. We are deliberately waiting for price in this exact range, where all the key arguments intersect at one point. The 50% Fibonacci retracement at $31.31 and the diagonal support line converge here. The 200 day moving average also arrives here, running inside the yellow block near its upper boundary. This compression forms a solid floor that leaves sellers no room to maneuver and reduces our systemic risk to a minimum. At the time of marking, the weekly candle is not yet closed: the stock is down 9.25% and trades near $35.91, about 6.6% above the upper edge of the zone. The 5.2% decline on November 4, to a 52 week low, came on volume above 8 million shares, 27% higher than average, so there are no signs of seller exhaustion yet, and we wait for price in the confluence zone. We expect large limit demand to show up exactly there. Short interest stands at 20.35% of shares outstanding, the highest among materials companies with a market cap above $2 billion, so a strong reaction to earnings could accelerate through short covering. The fundamental trigger is the quarterly report, released today, November 5, after the close of the regular session. In the second quarter revenue grew 89% to $108.5 million, and the consensus for the third quarter is revenue of about $117.5 million and a loss of about $0.02 per share. Revenue beat expectations in three of the last four quarters. We are watching NdPr production, income under the Pentagon price protection agreement, progress on the Apple and GM contracts, and the launch of the 10X plant. The volatility expected around the report can drive price into our accumulation rectangle. By the company’s own description, MP Materials remains the only integrated rare earth producer in the Western Hemisphere, and that is a powerful foundation for the long term story. From a systematic trading perspective, this is an entry zone with a short, clear stop, where the scenario breaks only on a firm close below $31.00. If a reversal confirms in the target block, the next targets open up: the first bounce takes liquidity at $42.78, the medium term balance restores at $54.54, then a return to the historical supply slab at $67.87 and a global target of $84.91 if the trend of rising demand for rare earth magnets holds. We do not run ahead of the locomotive, we ignore local noise completely, we fill the feeders and act coolly. This material is purely a technical and fundamental analysis by the author and is not personal investment advice for making trades.
