The Ministry of Health & Social Services has officially unveiled Namibia’s first-ever government-owned air ambulance.✈️ The plane is aimed at improving emergency medical transport for critically ill patients, particularly those in remote areas who require specialised treatment at referral hospitals. The initiative comes after Health Minister Dr. Esperance Luvindao previously confirmed that patients had died during long-distance transfers between hospitals. The ministry says the air ambulance will serve ordinary Namibians rather than being reserved for VIPs. The aircraft was transferred from the Ministry of Works & Transport after remaining unused for several years, despite ongoing maintenance and certification costs.
