HOW-TO: Read active and invalidated zones in Zone AtlasE-mini S&P 500 FuturesCME_MINI:ES1!ckozmaThis walkthrough explains how to read the Zone Atlas display on a standard ES 15-minute chart. The chart is a current map for inspection, rather than a historical entry signal or a trade recommendation. 1. Start with the timeframe label Each zone retains its own source timeframe. An hourly zone is evaluated using its hourly source candles, even when viewed on this 15-minute chart. Monthly borders default to orange, weekly to yellow, and daily to blue. Intraday borders use the supply or demand color. Higher-timeframe zones may be outside the visible price range. 2. Separate active areas from the archive Filled supply and demand areas are active zones. Frozen dotted white outlines marked X are invalidated zones retained for inspection. For demand, invalidation occurs when part of a closed source candle’s body passes below its midpoint; for supply, when the body passes above it. A wick alone does not meet that body-based rule. Configured synthetic gap events can also invalidate a zone. The archive is useful for inspecting failures as well as the areas still active. It is limited by the retention and drawing settings; it is not a complete history. 3. Inspect confirmation time Hover a zone label to compare Base and Confirmed timestamps. A confirmed box can extend backward to its original base. That left edge does not mean the zone was available at that earlier time. Closed-source processing and session boundaries can delay when an update appears. 4. Explain missing layers before changing the rules This 15-minute chart calculates sources at 15 minutes and above. Smaller sources are omitted. Display filters, ranking, storage limits, and source-session choices can also explain a missing zone. The source diagnostics distinguish display limits from invalidation and capacity eviction. 5. Treat the score as context The tooltip breaks the score into programmed checks and identifies missing context. The score is not a measured probability of reversal. Entry, exit, execution costs, and risk still require a separate process.
