I got bored of ChatGPT's plain dark mode, so I built Merlot Midnight, a free Tampermonkey script that turns it deep burgundy and fills the background with a living star field. What it does: ✨ Stars gather and orbit around your cursor like a magnet (triple-click for rainbow mode) ☄️ Shooting stars fly past, and you can catch one. It whips around your cursor until it forms a glowing ball of light 🔮 Click the ball, type a question, and it's sent to ChatGPT. Then the ball explodes in a shockwave that ripples through the whole sky 🌠 Random meteor showers. Catch a gold one for a gold orb ⭐ Hold Shift and drag across stars to draw your own constellation and name it 🌌 An aurora ripples across the screen whenever ChatGPT finishes an answer 🌙 A crescent moon that follows your real clock, plus a night mode that dims everything after midnight ⚙️ Alt + Shift + M opens a settings panel to tweak everything This is my first project on GitHub, so I'd really appreciate any feedback, bug reports or feature ideas! Install + details: https://github.com/ColdSpyy/merlot-midnight (Needs the Tampermonkey extension, and ChatGPT has to be in dark mode.) submitted by /u/NotColdSpy [link] [comments]
