Oil Rebounds After Worst 3-Day Drop Since 2021!WTI CRUDE OILTVC:USOILKalaGhaziOil prices bounced on Thursday, but the rebound did not extend to energy stocks. Almost everything on Wall Street was in the red, yet WTI crude (CL=F) was one of the few exceptions, rising about 3% after suffering its worst three-day drop since late 2021. Even with that recovery in crude, energy equities failed to join the move, leaving the sector out of step with the commodity’s rebound. The drop in oil had been steep. WTI futures fell 15% from their Oct. 30 settlement above $104 to a Nov. 4 settlement near $88, the lowest level since Aug. 31. The sharpest leg of that decline came on Nov. 4, after Democrats won control of Congress and Vice President JD Vance posted on X. Against that backdrop, Thursday’s roughly 3% bounce in crude represented only a partial recovery from a pronounced selloff, and the fact that energy stocks did not participate highlighted how cautious investors remained toward the sector even as oil itself stabilized.
