My friend and I spent the last two months turning a rather fascinating mathematical idea into an animated story, and our first video is finally out! We started Stats and Scribbles, a channel where mathematics, algorithms, and computational experiments meet storytelling (with a healthy dose of absurdity). Our first episode, Baking Bread, throws Walter, Jesse, and Gustavo into the bread business to explore the Yard Sale Model and how wealth inequality can emerge even when the rules are perfectly fair. Jesse trusts his luck, Gustavo plays it safe, and Walter decides to bring reinforcement learning into a bread war. Naturally, we couldn't stop at the animation, so we built an interactive Python simulation lab where you can run the experiments yourself, mess with the parameters, and see what happens. This is just our first experiment in making mathematics a little less intimidating and a lot more entertaining. We'd love to know what you think! We'll be releasing a new video every month, exploring all sorts of fascinating topics through storytelling, mathematics, and computational experiments! If you enjoy our first video, do give it a like, share it around, and subscribe to Stats and Scribbles. It would mean a lot to us! ❤️ submitted by /u/SuspiciousEmphasis20 [link] [comments]
