Tottenham Hotspur’s stance on Lucas Bergvall’s future has come to light as interest grows across Europe in the Swedish international.Bergvall’s new contract in the summer has done little to dampen speculation that he may be on his way out of Spurs.Spurs Web has relayed a number of reports over recent weeks revealing that Barcelona and Napoli are both eyeing the 20-year-old Tottenham man, amid reports that his new deal could contain a release clause. The Catalan club have admired Bergvall for a long time, having gone toe-to-toe with Spurs to sign him from Djurgårdens back in 2024.However, reports coming out of North London over the last 48 hours suggest that De Zerbi’s men are relaxed about the midfielder’s future and believe he could become a mainstay in their starting eleven.Credit: @thatfootballphotog / InstagramTottenham will not sell Lucas Bergvall without signing a replacement in JanuaryTEAMtalk have now confirmed that Barca and Napoli are eyeing the Sweden international, and they reveal that Juventus also have their eye on the midfielder’s situation. However, the report says that Tottenham are unlikely to allow Bergvall to depart in the winter without signing a replacement.Spurs want to protect their squad depth and would only consider the sale of the youngster if they were able to add another midfielder to their squad. The former Djurgården man remains part of De Zerbi’s plans, and the club still retain hope that he could force his way back into the side when he recovers from his injury.Juve are ‘most active’ with their interest in Lucas Bergvall, with the Bianconeri eyeing a loan move until the end of the season if the player does not get many starts until January. However, even a temporary move appears unlikely for the midfielder, with Spurs reluctant to lose depth in a key area and weaken their squad midseason.A depature for Bergvall thus remains highly unlikely unless Tottenham have a replacement lined up.L.
