What's the difference between cardiac stepdown and medical stepdown? My hospital is getting a new wing and our cardiac stepdown unit is getting divided into medical stepdown and cardiac stepdown. On the new wing, there is no med-surg floor. It is now only considered MICU and medical stepdown or CVICU and cardiac stepdown. So basically, what is the difference? I’m confused. Are they just putting medical stepdown instead of med-surg? submitted by /u/UsefulStudy721 [link] [comments]
