Hello there. I've been working on something called de-press.co, and a few days ago I finally launched its first working version. The idea came from a pretty simple thought: sometimes life gets unbearably difficult, and all you really want is to talk about it. Not to ask for advice, not to collect likes or sympathy, and certainly not to have strangers judge your feelings. You just want to let it all out. And maybe know that someone heard you. That's what I'm trying to build. On de-press, you can share your thoughts without public likes, comments, or ratings. Other people can quietly show that they've heard you, and if you actually want to talk, you can decide whether to start a private conversation. There's also a space for personal mood notes and an optional AI companion, although I strongly believe that no AI can replace real human understanding. I'm not trying to reinvent therapy or pretend that a website can fix someone's life. I just wanted to create a small, quiet corner of the internet where people can be vulnerable without feeling like they're being watched or evaluated. The project is nonprofit, open-source and still very much an MVP. Some things will probably break, and there's a lot left to improve. It's unfinished, but it's alive, and that's a start. The platform itself isn't meant to be something you use all the time. There are no tricks, no hooks designed to keep you scrolling or coming back. People go through different periods in their lives, and I believe this place should exist simply to help them get through the darkest and most painful ones. That said, I'm seriously considering bringing in people who can offer real, meaningful help. I'd really appreciate your thoughts. Does the idea make sense? Would you ever use something like this? And if you try it, please tell me what doesn't work. Website: https://de-press.co GitHub: https://github.com/de-pressco/de-press And don't cry alone. submitted by /u/destward [link] [comments]
