Since late August the free app ComfyUI has had an image to model setup built in, and it's called Pixal3D, which is free too. It runs from the app's own image to model template with no add-ons, and the template lists the model files to download once. After that one photo of an object goes in. The app cuts the background out of the photo and builds the shape, then bakes the textures on, all on the graphics card in your own computer. People who've tried it report about one to two minutes a model, using somewhere around ten to fifteen gigabytes of graphics memory. A twelve gigabyte card ran out of memory once, on one photo, though a larger photo on that same card finished in under two minutes. The side of the object the photo can't show gets invented by the model, so the back won't match the real thing. As far as I can tell everyone who reported on it used an NVIDIA card, so I don't know how it goes on a Mac or an AMD card. submitted by /u/DockerPomegranate to r/AICreatorTips [link] [comments]
