https://i.redd.it/75tjhc9uchzh1.gif A week ago I posted PrintView3D here, the free viewer I made after Microsoft retired 3D Viewer. Thanks for all the ideas, several of them are in now. What's new since then: - Look inside your models: Wireframe, X-ray and two cut views. Clip from the top hides everything above a height; Clip facing you is an upright cut that turns with the view, so you can sweep through a model like a scanner. Opened-up walls are drawn in red, so cavities, hidden parts and wall thickness show right away - Each object's size (X × Y × Z) in the Objects list - A view cube in the corner: click a side, drag to rotate, arrows turn in 45° steps, Home goes back - Plate menu for models bigger than your printer: the printer's plate from the file, grow to fit, a custom size, or an infinite grid - Themes: four styles, each in light and dark, or following your system - Export STL from FreeCAD and STEP files too, not only from 3MF projects - Home button back to your recent files, and "What's new" in the menu, in your language - Romanian added, so seven languages now (translated by a user, thank you!) - Linux: the AppImage can update itself Still free, MIT licence, works offline, no account, no tracking. Windows, Linux and a macOS beta. Short videos of the cut views: https://sevagjb.github.io/PrintView3D/inspect.html Download: https://github.com/sevagjb/PrintView3D Next up is showing the part a cut takes away as a faint see-through ghost. Bug reports and ideas are welcome here or on GitHub. submitted by /u/sevagj-b to r/3DPrintingTools [link] [comments]
