I’ve been building Scenedial, a free TV and movie app (web, works on phones too, in beta, have to pin the url as an app, no App Store availability yet). The feature this community might be most interested in is: synced watch parties that play straight from your Plex server. Pick an episode or movie, send friends a link, and everyone watches in their browser, in sync, with a chat beside the video. There’s no need for you to install anything for it, and as long as you have access to a server you can stream from remotely, you can set-up watch parties in the app. Beyond that it does three things: Tracking: follow everything you’re watching, see when your shows return in a TV guide and calendar, and build your own lists. Bring your history from TV Time, Trakt, Letterboxd, IMDb, AniList, Netflix, Prime Video and Plex, and once linked, your Plex watches get tracked automatically. Two-way Trakt syncs too. Discovery: describe what you’re in the mood for in plain words, or pick a few shows or movies you love and get ones that fit all of them, plus recommendations you can steer. Social: a spoiler-safe discussion room for every episode, a feed of what your friends are watching, and clubs and games. It’s a one-person project: no ads, no selling data, and you can export everything. You can check out the app here: https://beta.scenedial.com/start I have a server with large TV and movie libraries and will provide access if you’re willing to sign up as a beta tester for Scenedial. If you are interested, feel free to dm letting me know and I’ll send you an invite link to sign up for the app. Also send me your plex username so I can give you access to the server. I’ve only got a few slots open for this, but will likely expand beta testing in the future if it seems like there’s interest submitted by /u/peplo1214 to r/Share_Plex [link] [comments]
