Businessman and city socialite Christian Asiimwe, commonly known as Don Chris, has been remanded to Luzira Prison over allegations that he defrauded job seekers by promising to secure them employment abroad.Asiimwe, 32, appeared before the City Hall Magistrates Court on Wednesday afternoon, where Senior Principal Grade One Magistrate Nicholas Aisu read 127 charges of obtaining money and goods by false pretence against him.The court remanded Asiimwe until September 21, 2026, as investigations into the allegations continue. The charges stem from claims that he obtained money from job seekers after promising to help them secure employment opportunities overseas.Police have reportedly recorded statements from 655 victims who claim to have lost more than Shs2 billion in the alleged job scam linked to Asiimwe and Skypins Tours.
