Juddmonte's Item will join Blue Bolt (Blue Point) on the journey to Ireland for the Irish Champions Festival, trainer Andrew Balding confirmed on Thursday. The son of Frankel is pointing to the G1 Irish Champion Stakes on September 12, while the G1 Falmouth Stakes and G1 Prix Rothschild heroine Blue Bolt is targeting the G1 Matron Stakes that same day.A winner of five of his six starts barring an unplaced run in the G1 Derby at Epsom in June, the chestnut claimed the G2 York Stakes in July and earned his first Group 1 badge in the Juddmonte International Stakes, also at York, in August.Balding told the Press Association: “I'm very happy with both Item and Blue Bolt and I'm hoping they will both go to Leopardstown.“The Arc is still in the picture for Item, but he wouldn't want to go a mile and a half on soft ground, that's for sure. He'll go to Ireland and then see.”This year's G1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes victress Kalpana (Study Of Man) is still pointing toward the G1 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe and a title defence in the G1 British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes.Balding added, “Kalpana has two autumn targets that we're considering, but we will know more nearer the time.
