Eh, no. Buy nothing groups are often not people begging/asking out of a deep need. They are specifically there for people to both give things and make requests. It’s not unusual for people in my group to make specific requests, because they have a specific thing in mind, and it takes a minute to make a quick Facebook post in a group dedicated to that. And then someone else might have the thing and be ready to get rid of it. It doesn’t hurt to ask before spending money/buying new. If people don’t have what they’re looking for, then they go spend money on it. Like with respect to this post, I actually do have a white crib in good condition that we are getting ready to get rid of in a few months, so if this were in my group, it might have been good timing. Actually, I have a few things on this list that I plan to put into my by nothing group soon— particularly because I got a bunch of things from there for my kids. This post would maybe be weird in another group, but it’s perfectly normal in a bio group.
