Alleged Los Angeles ‘serial pooper’ uses the sidewalk as a bathroom. Then a mother and daughter encounter her

A Los Angeles mother says a woman confronted her while she was walking with her young daughter and dogs. It’s the same woman whom residents had allegedly accused of repeatedly defecating on neighborhood sidewalks. The encounter turned what neighbors describe as a long-running quality-of-life concern into a reported safety issue. The mother, Wendy Kush, told FOX 11 that she encountered the woman on Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026, in Brentwood, generally considered an affluent neighborhood on L.A.’s west side. Kush alleged the woman began yelling that she was going to kill her and lunged in her direction as Kush tried to leave with her daughter and dogs. “I couldn’t get the lab to move because she was moving really slow. Luckily, I finally just started running, and the dogs followed me, but it was really scary,” Kush told the station. The encounter followed years of complaints from some Brentwood residents. Kush’s reported encounter comes as reports say the woman repeatedly uses sidewalks and other areas near homes to defecate. According to FOX 11, a video recorded at the corner of Goshen and Barrington Avenues shows a woman with her pants down while defecating and wiping herself. Residents told the station they have seen similar incidents throughout the neighborhood for years. Residents of a Brentwood neighborhood say she's been pooping on their lawns for years. Kush said she contacted 311, the city’s non-emergency service line, to report the situation and seek assistance for the woman. One organization reportedly located the woman, but she declined services. Similar incidents have happened elsewhere. In Maryland, a TikTok creator reported what appeared to be human feces and urine on the floor in an H&M store. Other residents have described additional encounters. ABC7 reported that neighbors believe the woman spends some of her time in a homeless encampment near Wilshire Boulevard and Barrington Avenue. Residents also told the station that she has appeared on multiple streets in Brentwood and sometimes mumbles or spits as she passes people. Laurie Sideman, another Brentwood resident, told FOX 11 that neighbors have contacted police, elected officials, and other agencies. “They’re all very compassionate. They wanna help, but their hands are tied, is what we’re constantly told. We’re also told that they really can’t do anything unless there’s an actual violent act,” Sideman said. The response has now reached City Hall. Reportedly, Councilmember Traci Park’s office asked the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health for assistance. Park’s office said the case illustrates the broader mental health crisis on Los Angeles streets and called for the woman to receive supervised care. The mayor’s office also notified the Los Angeles Police Department and requested a mental health outreach team through the County Emergency Centralized Response Center (ECRC), which coordinates homelessness-related resources across Los Angeles County. In a separate story, in 2024, Kentucky residents faced a similar situation when home security cameras captured a man pooping on porches. In at least one case, he rang the doorbell.
