Alan Smith does not think Arsenal should have sold Leandro Trossard because he was one of the most reliable players in their squad and still had so much to offer the team.Trossard was never regarded as an especially exciting player, but no one can deny that he was effective. He knew how to help the team and produce important contributions at key moments, making him a valuable option for the Gunners.When Arsenal signed Noni Madueke and Eberechi Eze, there was speculation that Trossard would struggle for game time. However, the Belgian kept his place in the team last season and proved to be a very important player.Trossard was important for ArsenalThe Gunners won the league title and reached the final of the Champions League, with Trossard playing an important role in their success. His ability to contribute when required made him one of the reliable players in Arsenal’s squad.However, while he was still playing for his country at the World Cup, Arsenal agreed a deal to sell him to Besiktas. The Gunners will now hope their new additions can fill the void created by those departures.For Smith, however, Trossard’s reliability and ability to deliver in important matches made him a player Arsenal should have retained.
