De La Salle College Malta has announced the passing of Brother Edward Galea, just weeks after he celebrated his 102nd birthday on 16th August.Brother Edward dedicated his long life to education, faith and service, touching generations of students, educators and families throughout the years.Announcing his passing, De La Salle College paid tribute to his “quiet presence”, his commitment to the Lasallian mission and the genuine care he showed towards others.“He lived a rich and useful life in the service of others… he will live in the hearts and minds of the many whose lives he touched,” the College said.His 102nd birthday earlier this year marked another remarkable milestone in a life overwhelmingly dedicated to his community and to education.“As a College community, we give thanks for the gift of his life and for all that he shared with us,” De La Salle said.The College concluded its tribute with a prayer that Bro. Edward be welcomed into the Lord’s “eternal embrace” and receive the reward of a life generously spent serving others.“Rest in peace, Bro. Edward.
