During one of his first interactions with the press as a Paris Saint-Germain player, Spanish forward Ferran Torres discussed the main differences he has noticed in the French capital compared with his former club, FC Barcelona. Some fans interpreted his comments as a “dig” at the Blaugrana. “(On the main differences between PSG and FC Barcelona) Above all, the dynamism, the speed and the quality of the players. The way the manager (Luis Enrique) gives us freedom and how he explains something and then it happens on the pitch. In the end, I think that makes the difference.” In the same vein, the player, who recently became a world champion with Spain, spoke about his expectations at his new club, saying he hopes they can help him win his first UEFA Champions League. “They’re two different teams, with more or less the same footballing philosophy. I still have to keep adapting, but when I saw the training sessions, I understood why they’ve won the last two Champions Leagues. Hopefully, they can help me win my first one and their third in a row.” Speaking about the UEFA Champions League Matchday 3 clash against FC Barcelona, Ferran Torres said it will be a very special game for him. He also described the reigning back-to-back European champions as currently being the best team in the world. “It’s going to be a special game against FC Barcelona. I played there for four and a half years, so it will be very emotional. We’ll try to win, but we’ll see. I think PSG are the best team in the world right now, but because of that, we’ll have more pressure than the others.” submitted by /u/IndividualPleasant23 [link] [comments]
