Academics, researchers, project coordinators, finance managers and other stakeholders participating in Horizon Europe projects will have the opportunity to gain valuable insights into Horizon Europe project implementation during a dedicated event being organised by Xjenza Malta on 23rd September 2026 at the Esplora Planetarium Hall, Villa Bighi, Kalkara.The full-day event will bring together experts from the European Commission and Xjenza Malta to provide practical guidance on managing Horizon Europe grants, navigating recent policy developments and maximising the impact of research results.As Malta’s National Contact Point organisation for Horizon Europe, Xjenza Malta is committed to supporting beneficiaries throughout the entire project lifecycle. While considerable attention is often given to proposal preparation and securing funding, effective project implementation is equally important to ensure compliance with European Commission requirements and to maximise the impact of funded research and innovation activities.The event will feature a number of presentations delivered by European Commission officials covering key aspects of Horizon Europe implementation including recent simplification measures introduced under the 2026-2027 Work Programmes.Other topics will include developments in lump sum funding regulations, ex-post controls and audits, as well as other services aimed at helping beneficiaries bring research results closer to the market.The event will be particularly relevant to researchers, project managers and other research support staff and representatives of organisations currently involved in Horizon Europe projects or planning future participation.Malta has continued to strengthen its participation in Horizon Europe throughout the years and 245 Grant Agreements have been signed with 316 Maltese participations since the start of the programme in 2021.
