A young dog named Chip is desperately searching for a forever home after being surrendered to Noah’s Ark Dog Sanctuary Malta at just around one year old.The sanctuary shared a video of Chip alongside an emotional appeal, explaining that the young dog is struggling to adjust to life inside a shelter.“Instead of growing up in a home, learning and enjoying life, he has found himself locked in a shelter trying to adjust, and he is not doing well,” Noah’s Ark said.Still essentially a big puppy, Chip is believed to have missed out on some of the attention, exercise, stimulation and training that a young dog needs during crucial months of its development. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Lovin Malta (@lovinmalta)Despite this, his carers say he is incredibly friendly, loves everyone he meets and is not reactive towards other dogs.Chip is a large and energetic young dog who has not received proper training in the past, but Noah’s Ark described him as “very obedient” and said he has plenty of potential with the right person by his side.“He simply needs someone patient who will give him structure, exercise, training and, most importantly, love and attention,” the sanctuary said.Noah’s Ark is now appealing for someone to give Chip the stability and peaceful environment he needs, saying shelter life is taking its toll on him.“Please help us find Chip a home. He desperately needs peace, stability and a chance to finally enjoy the life a young dog should have.”Chip’s story also prompted the sanctuary to issue a reminder to anyone thinking about adopting or buying a puppy.“Puppies grow up,” it warned. “A puppy is a lifelong commitment, not just a cute little dog.”The sanctuary stressed that puppies require daily exercise, stimulation, socialisation, training, patience and time, with what they experience during their early months helping shape the adult dogs they eventually become.“Getting a puppy means being there for the adult dog they will become too.”For Chip, that adult life is only just beginning, and Noah’s Ark is hoping someone out there will give him the loving home he deserves.Could you give Chip his forever home?•
