Why don’t more Namibians invest in promising local startups/companies

Wait 5 sec.

During my time at the Mining Expo and the Oil & Gas Summit, I came across a Namibian software company whose product and technology genuinely impressed me. Based on what they were building and showcasing, I honestly thought that, if executed well and scaled internationally, the company could potentially become one of the biggest tech companies to come out of Africa as they solved a universal issue most companies in various industries including my own face. It got me wondering why don’t more Namibians invest in or buy shares in promising local startups? Is it a lack of awareness about the opportunities, a lack of trust in local startups, limited access to investment opportunities, or simply a preference for more traditional investments? submitted by /u/No-Situation-7991 [link] [comments]
