Counterpoint Research has published an analysis of the global high-bandwidth memory (HBM) market for Q2 2026. According to the report, Samsung held a 33% share, securing the second spot on the chart for the third consecutive quarter. In comparison, the South Korean tech giant had a 21% share in Q1 2026 and a 15% share in Q2 2025. This means Samsung strengthened its market position by 12 percentage points quarter-over-quarter (QoQ), representing a 57% increase, and 18 percentage points year-over-year (YoY), representing a 120% increase. That’s a significant achievement for Samsung, especially considering it was the only major HBM supplier to grow its market share in Q2 2026. SK Hynix retained the top spot with a 50% market share, down from 58% in the previous quarter, while Micron ranked third with an 18% share, down from 21% in Q1 2026.While Samsung didn’t have the largest share of the HBM market in Q2 2026, it was the leader in the overall DRAM market during the quarter, with a 39% market share.
