I’ve seen a couple of episodes,” he told Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent on talkSPORT Drive.“I went to a screening up here, but it was a very uncomfortable watch for me.”Guardiola ‘gave his heart and soul to City’Reflecting on Guardiola’s glittering decade-long association with City, which peaked with an historic treble in the 2023/24 season, Gallagher said: “He gave his heart and soul to the club, and he demands that everybody else around him gives their heart and soul to the club.“Even fans like me… who are not allowed to say anything, even on the radio.“But if you’re ever in any doubt, his passion for the club is unrivalled. He’s full on, 100 per cent, seven days a week, never sleeps… “He is offended when they lose and he’s elated when they win, and he’s the real deal.“But it was a bit of an uncomfortable watch, I’ve got to say.”Gallagher and Guardiola still in touchGallagher revealed that he has spoken to Guardiola since he bid City farewell in May.“We’ve had a couple of exchanges,” he confirmed. “He’s back in Barcelona. I’ll see him next year I would have thought” – perhaps at an Oasis show, after Gallagher hinted at a return to the stage in 2027…Gallagher formed a close friendship with GuardiolaGettyGallagher’s advice to FodenOne area of the documentary that Gallagher homed in on was Phil Foden‘s demeanour under Guardiola, noting how he thought the midfielder appeared scared.“The couple of episodes I’ve seen, Phil just looks terrified all the way,” Gallagher said.And Gallagher urged Foden to ‘relax’ and focus on his game, with Enzo Maresca now in the City dugout.“I didn’t feel like he had a good game [in the 4-1 win over Crystal Palace last Friday],” Gallagher continued. “But when I came back [home] and I watched it back, he actually had a pretty good game.“But every season now for Phil is massive because the team has been rebuilt [City made two signings on deadline day alone, including Enzo Fernandez for £125m] and he’s now got to fight for his place again.Foden played a key part in City’s recent victory over PalaceGetty“But that’s a good thing. He’s got the world at his feet; he’s got the fans behind him; it’s up to him.“You see Nico O’Reilly looks like he’s a Rolls-Royce of a player. I think Phil feels [the pressure] a bit more.“I think Phil needs to relax and just play football.“We have to remember he’s never really played in his preferred position. He’s always played out on the wing, but we’ve got a lot of great players coming through there now and a lot of young players as well.“We’ll see, but it’s as important as it was last season. He started off great last season and then fell off a cliff.“When he comes on or when he starts, he just needs to make an impact and do something and he needs to put the ball in the net, because missing sitters is not going to do him any favours.”Foden won six Premier League titles with City under GuardiolaGettyFoden scored ten goals for City in all competitions last term, his lowest return since the 2019/20 campaign.But, positively, the 26-year-old started all three games of the Maresca era so far and provided two assists against Palace.He’ll hope to open his goalscoring account for 2026/27 when City entertain Coventry in the Premier League on Saturday.
