Over 2,500 Guarantee Committee members will be appointed in Mandya district soon: Dinesh Gooligowda - The HinduUpdated - September 02, 2026 08:57 pm IST - MYSURUDinesh GooligowdaA total of 2,538 Guarantee Committee members will be appointed soon in Mandya district to ensure that the State government’s five guarantee schemes reach eligible beneficiaries, said Vice Chairman of the State Guarantee Schemes Implementation Authority Dinesh Gooligowda.Gooligowda, who is also an MLC, said the State government has already constituted Guarantee Committees at the district and taluk levels.With Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar having instructed that six Guarantee Committee members be appointed for each ward or panchayat in City Municipal Councils (CMCs), Town Municipal Councils (TMCs), Town Panchayats and Gram Panchayats, members of the district and taluk committees have been asked to discuss the matter with the Minister in-charge of the district, N. Cheluvarayaswamy, and prepare and submit a list of members soon.In a statement here, Gooligowda said a total of 423 Guarantee Committees will be formed across the district — two CMCs covering 66 wards, six TMCs covering 115 wards, one Town Panchayat with 13 wards, and 229 gram panchayats.With each committee comprising six members, he said a total of 2,538 members will need to be appointed across the 423 committees.“Each committee will have one representative each from the SC/ST, minority, backward classes and general categories, besides two women.
