Restoration works are currently underway at Għar Lapsi as the popular coastal spot continues to recover from damage caused by Storm Harry in January.Is-Servizz Pubbliku shared a fresh update from the site, showing works progressing as authorities carry out the necessary repairs.The bay was heavily battered during the storm, prompting plans for a wider regeneration project aimed at repairing the damage and improving access and safety for the public.The regeneration is being carried out in three phases, Local Government and Public Works Minister Alison Zerafa Civelli revealed in a parliamentary reply in July.The first phase includes repairing the existing slipway, constructing a new staircase leading down to the bay and rebuilding a jetty used by swimmers.Public Works employees are carrying out the works, with the slipway undergoing repairs and work on the new staircase progressing.A second phase will see the landing stage at the nearby Għar Miżun reconstructed, with large boulders from the area positioned to help protect the structure from wave action.The latest update comes as works continue to restore one of Malta’s most popular seaside spots following the extensive damage caused earlier this year.Looking forward to seeing Għar Lapsi restored?•
