NUP MP Declares Singer King Saha Uganda’s Lucky Dube

By Mulengera ReporterNUP MP Jamal Mukuve of Bukhooli County in Bugiri district wants singer King Saha to be accepted by all opposition supporters as Uganda’s own Lucky Dube. Mukuve said during a recent online live interview that he can’t sleep or wake up and leave his house without saying a special prayer dedicating King Saha to Allah for divine protection. That some instinct keeps telling him that those responsible for entrenching corruption, dictatorship and bad governance in Uganda are one day going to orchestrate King Saha’s death under mysterious circumstances similar to what befell South Africa’s Lucky Dube. He said that King Saha’s music and songs are social justice-focussed as was the case with Lucky Dube’s during the Apartheid era in South Africa. Mukuve said he believes that the Ugandan murders, who thrive on corruption and social injustice, will one day put King Saha out of action in exactly controversial circumstances as was the case with Lucky Dube. King Saha was on the same live broadcast online and personally demanded to know why Mukuve is always calling for Allah’s protection to be upon him. Mukuve responded with: “My brother Kabaka [to mean King] you have asked me this many times. But the truth is I’m one person who doesn’t take chances. I keep getting the feeling that there are rogue-minded actors who want to assassinate you Lucky Dube style because in my view, you are Uganda’s own version of Lucky Dube. You are exactly like him when it comes to singing about injustices ordinary community members face on a daily.” King Saha said he was grateful for such prayers, prompting Jamal Mukuve to call on all the other change-seeking Ugandans to begin doing the same-deliberately praying for divine protection to be upon King Saha.
