Veronica Stephens has been named the new chair of Nottingham Racecourse. She succeeds Jeremy Bradbeer, who died suddenly on August 15.A member of the course's Racecourse Committee since 2017, Stephens is a lifelong racing fan. She is also an honourary steward at Doncaster and Southwell and has been an owner for many years. She is currently a member of several successful Highclere Thoroughbred Racing syndicates and serves as secretary of the Belvoir Point-to-Point while working for Pacemaker. Last year, Stephens was appointed deputy lieutenant of Lincolnshire.The Jockey Club's senior steward, Baroness Dido Harding, said, “The passing of Jeremy Bradbeer last month was very sad and came as a great shock to us all.“The mark of a great Chair is always the strength of their committee and the legacy they leave behind, and we are extremely fortunate to be able to appoint Veronica.“The team at Nottingham have benefited greatly from her contributions since her appointment to the committee nearly 10 years ago.
