Reigning Eredivisie winners PSV are off to a flyer in league play and Saturday’s rivalry showdown with Ajax will provide a first true test of the new campaign. Ricardo Pepi and his PSV teammates will meet Ajax in the first of two league meetings this season. The 23-year-old striker scored in back-to-back wins over Excelsior and FC Groningen, delivering a positive start to the new campaign. Despite not finding the back of the net in Sunday’s 6-1 romp over FC Utrrecht, Pepi remains Peter Bosz’s top No. 9 option as PSV aims to repeat as league winners. The U.S. Men’s National Team forward scored in the last head-to-head meeting with Ajax and will hope to add to another tally against PSV’s biggest rivals.
