With Tottenham set to begin their Premier League season on Saturday against Brentford, we have attempted to predict Roberto De Zerbi’s starting XI.Tottenham Hotspur are set to begin their Premier League campaign this weekend with a clash against Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.Spurs, who are yet to suffer a defeat since May, will be hoping to keep their unbeaten run going when they line up against Keith Andrews’ side. However, Brentford are no pushovers, with the Bees themselves holding a strong opening-day record, and so do Tottenham.Ahead of Spurs’ Premier League opener this weekend, we have attempted to predict how Roberto De Zerbi could set his team up.Credit: @thefrederikkejensen / InstagramTottenham predicted XI vs BrentfordGoalkeeper – Antonin Kinsky: The goalkeeper position is perhaps the easiest call the former Brighton manager will make this weekend. Kinsky featured during pre-season and with Vicario loaned out, the Czech international looks set to start against Brentford.Right-back – Archie Gray: It is a toss-up between Pedro Porro and Archie Gray for the right-back position. Porro, however, only returned to training two weeks ago and has yet to play any game since the World Cup final, making his involvement on Saturday a doubt. For that reason, we expect Gray to play at right-back.Centre-back – Jan Paul van Hecke: The Dutchman was heavily involved in pre-season for Tottenham and looked sharp. It is a no-brainer – van Hecke starts against Brentford.Centre-back – Marcos Senesi: In Spurs’ penultimate pre-season outing against Hoffenheim, we saw Senesi partner van Hecke at the back. The pair managed a clean sheet and complemented each other really well. We do expect De Zerbi to maintain that partnership this weekend.Left-back – Andy Robertson: Destiny Udogie’s fitness remains in doubt, leaving Robertson in prime position to start the game against Brentford.Defensive midfielder – Sandro Tonali: The Italian was one of Spurs’ better players in pre-season and was mostly deployed in the holding midfield role. There is no need for adaptation as Tonali is very familiar with the Premier League. We do expect him to be one of the first names on the teamsheet.Centre-midfielder – Mateus Fernandes: His minutes in pre-season had to be managed due to fitness concerns. Regardless, he still got over 300 minutes under his belt and featured in Spurs’ final pre-season game against Hoffenheim. He could very much start on Saturday, but should he miss out, Bergvall could come in for him.Centre-midfielder – Conor Gallagher: James Maddison’s only pre-season appearance came on Sunday against Hoffenheim, making him a doubt for Saturday’s encounter. Gallagher, on the other hand, was a regular during Tottenham’s summer camp and was mostly used in the number ten role. For that reason, we expect De Zerbi to stick with him in that position come Saturday.Right-winger – Mikey Moore: After an impressive outing on Saturday against Hoffenheim where he scored a brace, Moore looks to have pushed himself up the pecking order. He should start against Brentford, considering the lack of options on the right.Striker – Richarlison: Solanke is a doubt for Saturday with the Englishman nursing an ankle injury. Richarlison, on the other hand, is fit and firing, popping up with a few goals in pre-season. We expect him to lead the line against the Bees.Right-winger – Mathys Tel: The Frenchman looks to have nailed down that right wing spot with his impressive displays throughout pre-season. He managed several assists and even a wonder free kick against Sydney. There is no doubt: Tel starts against Brentford.READ MORE: Tottenham’s hatch ‘ideal’ three-player plan for final two weeks of the transfer windowThe post Tottenham predicted XI vs Brentford as Mikey Moore and Archie Gray start appeared first on Spurs Web.
