In 2017, technology billionaires Jack and Laura Dangermond donated $165 million to The Nature Conservancy to help protect 24,364 acres of California coastline near Point Conception in Santa Barbara County. At the time, it was the largest gift in the organization's history, helping preserve a rare stretch of coast from future development.
