We spoke a lot in pre-season. He’s a top player, a top potential player. I like that he stays but I think now he wants to stay and we have no problem.”Bergvall ready to fight for minutes despite midfield competitionAccording to reports from earlier in the summer, Bergvall wanted out of Tottenham due to fear of a lack of minutes.Spurs were swift in bolstering their midfield this transfer window with the signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali, leaving the 20-year-old worried about his chances of getting game time in his preferred position.Bergvall and Tonali started the opening game against Brentford, but both looked rusty, poor, and short of fitness in the first half.
