EPCOT has been quiet this summer, and it has been kind of wonderful.For a few weeks between festivals, the park settles into something it almost never gets to be. World Showcase feels walkable. You can get through the promenade without weaving around a line for a kiosk. Tables open up. The pavilions get to be pavilions instead of backdrops for a booth. If you have only ever visited EPCOT during a festival, that version of the park probably sounds unfamiliar, and honestly, it is a little unfamiliar even to regulars.Plenty of guests love it. Plenty of others cannot stand it and describe a festival-less EPCOT as an empty park with nothing going on.Both camps are about to become irrelevant because that window closes in a matter of hours.The 2026 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins tomorrow, August 27, and runs through November 21. That is nearly three full months of Global Marketplaces, concerts, scavenger hunts, and crowds returning to a park that has been coasting since the last festival wrapped.EPCOT is going to feel like a completely different place when you walk in tomorrow morning. And there is one detail worth knowing before you plan around it.Credit: DisneyNot Everything Opens Tomorrow at EPCOTThis trips people up every single year.The festival starts tomorrow, but it is not fully assembled yet. Several Global Marketplaces and experiences roll out on later dates, which means an August 27 visit and an October 27 visit are genuinely different events.Here is what is not there on day one:Festival Favorites opens September 9The Wedge Hosted by Dairy Does More at CommuniCore Hall runs September 18 through November 8Coastal Eats opens October 2Earth Eats opens October 2India opens October 2The Alps opens October 2That is a meaningful chunk of the lineup, and four of those arrive more than a month into the run.If you have your heart set on the Chicken Tikka Masala at India, the Tartiflette at The Alps, or the Seafood Pot Pie at Coastal Eats, tomorrow is not your day. The same goes for the Red Wine-braised Beef Short Rib at Earth Eats.The EPCOT Festival Is Turning 30This year carries some weight beyond the usual.The 2026 festival marks 30 years of Food & Wine at EPCOT, and Disney built the anniversary into the menus rather than just the merchandise.Thirty items across the festival have either returned or been reimagined from past years, each marked with a special 30th icon in the Foodie Guide.Some of those pull from surprisingly deep in the archive. The Potato Pierogi at Festival Favorites was introduced in 1996. So were the Dumplings Trio at China, the Apple Strudel at Germany, the Spicy Temaki Hand Roll at Japan, and the Trio d’Escargots at France. The Ras el Hanout Cauliflower Bowl at Tangierine Café dates to 2003.That is a nice touch for anyone who has been doing this festival for decades, and it gives returning guests a specific reason to hunt for items rather than just graze.Credit: DisneyWhat Is Open TomorrowPlenty, to be clear.World Showcase booths, including Australia, Mexico, China, Germany, Spain, Italy, Japan, Greece, Belgium, Brazil, France, Canada, and Hawai’i, are part of the opening slate, along with Refreshment Outpost and Tangierine Café.Around World Celebration and World Nature, Brew-Wing Lab at the Odyssey, Gyozas of the Galaxy, Flavors from Fire, and The Fry Basket are all in play.The walkway booths between the Imagination Pavilion and World Showcase are open, too, including Bramblewood Bites, Milled & Mulled, Forest & Field, Swirled Showcase, and Shimmering Sips.Notable new items on day one include the Basil Pesto Chicken Dumplings at Gyozas of the Galaxy, the Smoked Brisket and Cheddar Melt at Hops & Barley, the Wiener Schnitzel at Germany, the Tostada de Osso Buco at Mexico, and the Moqueca de Camarão at Brazil.The returning Pumpkin-Mascarpone Ravioli at Forest & Field is there from the start, which matters because it is one of the most consistently requested items on the entire menu.Emile’s Fromage Montage Is Back at EPCOTThe cheese stroll returns, and the mechanics are the same as always.Buy five qualifying cheese items from participating Global Marketplaces, collect the stamps in your Festival Passport, and redeem at Shimmering Sips for a festival treat.Worth noting for anyone planning to knock it out early: several of the qualifying items live at booths that are not open yet. The Wedge, which carries multiple eligible cheese dishes, does not arrive until September 18. That does not make the stroll impossible in August, but it does narrow your options.Everything Else Running This YearThe festival is more than booths, and the surrounding lineup is substantial.The Eat to the Beat Concert Series, presented by Enterprise, returns with live performances, and Concert Series Dining Packages are available for guaranteed seating on the same day as the meal.Credit: DisneyRemy’s Ratatouille Hide & Squeak sends guests around the festival hunting for Remy. Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit runs September 25 through November 2 with hidden pumpkins and a seasonal keepsake.The Cheers to Cheese exhibit at CommuniCore Hall runs September 18 through November 8, with an interactive look at the history of cheese.Jammin’ Chefs are performing throughout the festival, and festival merchandise collections and mini festival gift cards are available across the park.The festival is included with valid EPCOT admission, and a theme park reservation may be required depending on your ticket type.Say Goodbye to the Quiet EPCOTIf you were one of the people enjoying the calm version of EPCOT this summer, tonight is your last night with it.Tomorrow, the kiosks open, the crowds return, and the park goes back to being the busiest food event on Disney property for the next three months.I will miss the quiet a little.
