(File Photo)A young man’s body was found wrapped in a sack hidden under stacked bricks in the Swamiji Nagar area of Kolkata’s New Town on Saturday.The Eco Park police identified the man as Saurabh Biswas, 24, a resident of Adarsh Palli in New Town. His body bore severe injury marks on the face and several other parts. Tattoos found on the body helped the police confirm his identity.The police said Saurabh and a friend had consumed drugs together before his death. They detained four friends of Saurabh for questioning and arrested one of them, Biswajit Biswas.Preliminary investigations suggest Saurabh died two to three days before his body was recovered, the police said. They added that the exact cause and time of his death would be confirmed only after the postmortem.The police are investigating whether there was any financial dispute between Saurabh and his friends.Man carrying body on his shoulderThe police are scanning local CCTV footage to determine where the death occurred and who dumped the body. They added that CCTV footage revealed an unidentified man carrying a sack-wrapped body on his shoulder.“He hurled it behind a parked motorcycle, tossed a second sack over it, and stacked loose bricks on top before vanishing into the night all within a single, chilling minute,” a police officer said.Story continues below this adAccording to a local resident, the body was dumped around 4.20 am. The suspect remained at the scene for about a minute.
