(File photo)Maharashtra Agriculture Minister Dattatray Bharne said on Sunday he would not mind dancing—or even playing marbles—with children, adding that there is only one life and everyone should enjoy it wholeheartedly.”What is wrong if someone becomes happy because of your actions? Now you might say I am a minister. If boys are dancing in a wedding procession and invite me, I dance with the children,” the NCP leader said while speaking at the Wavdi Festival and Hirkani Fair in Nimgaon, Solapur district.”If kids are playing marbles in an area and ask me to play, I go and play with them too. If my dancing brings joy to the children, why shouldn’t I dance? If playing marbles with children makes them happy, why shouldn’t I play? There is only one life. One should live wholeheartedly, remain happy oneself, and also bring joy to others,” Bharne said. The minister also commented on the sugar price rise, stating that it would help both sugar factories and farmers.“The price of sugar has gone up to Rs 75. However, due to bank loans, sugar factories do not have adequate sugar stock. As a result, only factories with excess sugar stock will benefit… Since sugar factories have limited storage capacity, it will benefit the farmers a little too,” he said.‘Pray to Lord Vitthal for rain’Bharne said there is anxiety among farmers in some parts of the state as rain has been scarce. ”Even though there is water in the dams, the capacity of the canals makes it impossible to supply water everywhere as needed. Therefore, farmers will have to pray to Lord Vitthal for rain,” he said.Bharne expressed confidence that rainfall in the coming days would replenish storage and percolation tanks, easing farmers’ concerns.
