Tibetan Communities and Institutions Under Dehradun Settlement Office Observe 49th Day Since Lobga Rangzen’s Martyrdom with Prayer Services and MarchesDehradun: On the 49th day, marking the end of the seventh week since the martyrdom of Tibetan patriot Lobga Rangzen, members of Tibetan communities in and around Dehradun held prayer services and peaceful marches at various locations.On 20 August, programmes were held across Tibetan settlements, monasteries, schools, and governmental and non-governmental organisations under the jurisdiction of the Dehradun Tibetan Settlement Office. The programmes were attended by monastics and lay members of the Tibetan community from all age groups. Peace marches were also held at several locations.At Dekyiling Tibetan Settlement, monastics and lay community members gathered in front of Dro-dhonling Lhakhang from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM to offer prayers and dedicate merits. During the prayer service, the Dehradun Tibetan Settlement Officer read out a statement issued by the Kashag (Cabinet), following which a peace march was conducted.Similarly, prayer services and peace marches were held at Dhondupling (Clement Town), Tsering Dhonden (Raipur), the Tibetan Women’s Centre (Rajpur), the scattered Tibetan community in Rajpur, and Lingtsang Tibetan Settlement (Manduwala). Monasteries under the jurisdiction of the Dehradun Tibetan Settlement, Gohri Mafi Tibetan Homes School, Mussoorie Tibetan Homes School, Mussoorie Sambhota Tibetan School, the Tibetan community in Nainital, and the scattered Tibetan community in Mussoorie also organised prayer services and marches.In addition, monasteries and colleges in Varanasi held similar prayer services and peace marches on the same day.– Report filed by Dehradun Tibetan Settlement Office
